'Anger can be a difficult thing for young people to talk about and come to terms with. Yet it can massively impact the way young people think and the choices they make. Tanya has been working with our school for several years and has provided 1:1 sessions with many of our students -boys and girls and a variety of age groups. Tanya's main strength is in building a relationship often with quite disaffected young people. Once this relationship is in place, Tanya will work to pick up the roots of anger within the young person and then come up with strategies to try and move them forward. Restoring and transforming those affected by anger.
This might be you after witnessing domestic abuse as a child, or you’re currently in a turbulent relationship and instead of arguing, you keep your emotions inside. You might be the person upsetting others and struggle to control your temper. Perhaps you just feel angry all the time, and you just don’t know why. Maybe you’re one of the many who believe you don’t have an anger problem because you never get angry, or you’ve been taught that anger is bad and therefore suppress it. This is far more dangerous than being aggressive because when anger is suppressed it fundamentally alters the brain structure and chemicals which can cause emotional, physical and even spiritual problems within you.
EVERYBODY NEEDS TO GET ANGRY
Anger can be beneficial - when explored, utilised and expressed in the right way. We help restore anger to its primary function and transform the behaviour in individuals so that they can flourish and thrive within their community, as well as use their anger positively, healthily and assertively.
Our main mission is to improve the lives of young people affected by anger – this is achieved, not only through implementing our evidence-based anger management initiative CHAMP within schools but through facilitating a positive change within angry adults too.
Founder and Director
In my experience as a Positive Anger Coach, I have worked with thousands of young people who have been directly affected by the anger of their parents AND teachers. I myself was a child affected by adult anger, which was the cause of the mental illness I’d developed later in life.
The lack of support available to me when I was a child, motivated me to enter a career in the health and wellbeing profession with a goal to help restore the lives of those who either witnessed unhealthy anger or suffered from anxiety and depression as a result.
